According to decisions taken by the Business Advisory Committee, several important bills may be tabled during this session.

The government has confirmed that it is prepared to discuss any matter brought forward by the opposition, especially those concerning the interests of the State.

The Parliamentary Affairs Minister stated that the government welcomes discussions even on constructive proposals presented by opposition parties.

“We hope, fruitful discussions will be made on the floor of the House on issues pertaining to the interests of the State. Recent incidents, and key matters such as the Capital Region Ring Road (CRRR), for which the government of India has sanctioned around Rs 8,000 crore, and two semi-conductor manufacturing units sanctioned by the Central government for Odisha worth around Rs 4,500 crore, and four waterway projects sanctioned for the State, including the scope of double-engine government will also be discussed,” the Parliamentary Affairs Minister Mukesh Mahaling said while briefing media persons.

On the other hand, the opposition has announced its intention to demand accountability from the government and ensure that it responds to all pressing issues concerning public welfare and State interest.

“We will present before the Assembly the pertinent issues, which are: farmers’ plight, crime against women, girls, and students, gangrape, hooliganism, and halt of the metro (rail) project,” BJD leader Pramila Mallik stated.

“The State government was not convening the Assembly session out of fear. Women abuse, girl student abuse, girl student suicide, women suicide, these have made the government scared, hence it was not convening a session,” Congress leader Tara Bahinipati expressed.

This session is expected to witness active debates, with both sides gearing up to present their perspectives on various crucial matters affecting Odisha.
