As Additional CP Bhola intervened to pacify the situation, some Congress workers allegedly grabbed him by the collar and knocked off his cap in the scuffle. The Congress workers also allegedly misbehaved with women police personnel deployed at the spot.

Despite repeated warnings, the protesters intensified their aggression, pushing against the barricades and attempting to break through the security cordon.

Amidst the turmoil, Congress MLA Ramesh Jena also attempted to storm past the barricades but was stopped by security personnel. The police made efforts to control the situation and prevent further escalation, but tensions remained high.

This confrontation follows the recent suspension of 14 Congress MLAs from the Assembly, triggering widespread protests by party workers. The growing unrest has led to heightened security measures around the Assembly premises, with additional police forces deployed to maintain law and order.

Authorities have condemned the attack on the senior police officer and are likely to take strict action against those involved.
Meanwhile, the Congress party continues to stage demonstrations, further intensifying the political turmoil in the state.
