Ambulance helper Manas Mallik
Not all heroes wear capes! There are people among us who always go the extra mile to save precious lives during any emergency. Odisha recently witnessed the wrath of severe cyclonic storm Dana that made landfall somewhere between Bhitarkanika and Dhamra on October 24-25.
A lot of individuals turned saviours for scores of people who needed help in such emergency situations. One of such heroes is Manas Kumar Mallik of Odisha.
Mallick works as 108 ambulance worker in Rajnagar block of Kendrapara district. He saved the life of a patient during the storm.

A video of Mallick running by carrying a female patient from a long way to the ambulance was shared by Odisha Deputy Chief Minister Pravati Parida.
Taking to her official X handle, Parida wrote, “A patient's life was saved due to the bravery of Manas Kumar Mallik, the 108 ambulance worker of Rajnagar block of Kendrapara district during the storm. Kudos to him for his bravery and humanity. Wishing him a bright future.”

Not only Mallick, but people across Odisha also witnessed the dedication of ASHA worker Sibani Mandal who shifted several elderly people in the district to the shelter by carrying her on her shoulder.
The video of Mandal went viral on social media and she received praises from different quarters including Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Majhi.
