Odisha 5T secretary VK Pandian was shown black flags and greeted with ‘Pandian Go back’ slogans by the youth Congress workers in Bhadrak on Sunday.

A group of youth Congress workers protested Pandian's visit to the district alleging nonfulfillment of several demands including setting up of a medical college in Bhadrak and university status to Bhadrak Autonomous College.

According to sources, 5T secretary VK Pandian was heading from Nehru Stadium in Bhadrak towards Agrasena Bhawan in Charampa to attend a Mission Shakti programme when some youth Congress workers waved black flags to him and greeted him with ‘Pandian Go Back’ slogans.

They protested his visit over their long-standing demands of setting up of a medical college and university status to Bhadrak Autonomous College.

Notably, in this regard, the Youth Congress had called a press conference on Saturday. They alleged they have already taken up their issues with the district administration, elected people’s representatives and the State government but to no avail.

Later in the evening, the Town police detained two workers of the Youth Congress.
