Odia Technician’s remarkable journey from Kendrapara to Chandrayaan-3 team

In a proud moment for Odisha, an Odia youth has been a crucial part of the successful launch of Chandrayaan-3, India’s third moon mission. The significant milestone is indeed a moment of pride for all Odias and Indians as well.

Odia boy Subhasish Nayak has made them proud by being part of the momentous launch onboard a Launch Vehicle Mark-3 (LVM-3) rocket from the second launch pad at the Satish Dhawan Space Centre in Sriharikota on Friday.

His journey from Odisha’s Kendrapara to ISRO is beyond remarkable and an inspiration for millions.

Born and brought up in Mukundpur village under Derabish block of Kendrapara district, Subhasish attended Dohali Banamali Brahmachari Model High School as a student.

Despite belonging to a humble background, poverty could not stop him from dreaming big and now he has proved his mettle.

After passing his matriculation, he joined an ITI course to fulfill his dream of becoming a Technician. Later, he went on to study at CTTC and made his village proud by getting selected in ISRO in 2018.

Subhasish worked tirelessly and his hard work finally paid off. With his sheer determination to do big and hard work, he became a core member of the Chandrayaan-3 Project in just four years. He was engaged in the project as Mechanical Engineer and has made Odisha proud and brought laurels for the country.

The people in Subhasish's village are filled with happiness and feel proud of his achievements and are manifesting that he will do wonders in the coming future.

“He went to the local school. We owe all his success to his headmistress Shanti madam. It was all her efforts to make Subhasish whatever he is today. She has helped him a lot. After his ITI, he got admission in CTTC, Bhubaneswar, and later got selected in ISRO. Now, he has made us all proud. The whole village, his teachers, and all elders are proud of him,” said an emotional Abhay Nayak, uncle of Subhasish.

Speaking about his achievements, Subhasish said, “I owe all my success to my family, fellow villagers, and my teachers. It is all because of their blessings, I have reached wherever I am today. I was inspired to join ISRO ever since I joined CTTC.”

“I was lucky to be part of such a historic project. The whole team has worked tirelessly day and night for the last four years on this project and this indeed is a proud moment for all of us,” he added.
