Nuapada district has been felicitated for its success in the field of tap water supply in the country under ‘Jal Jeevan Mission’. Director of Odisha Tourism Department, Sachin Ramchandra Yadav and Nuapara district Collector Hema Kanta Ray received the certificate from Chief Secretary Pradeep Kumar Jena at the secretary-level meeting held at Kharavela Bhawan in Bhubaneswar on Tuesday. 

After the felicitation ceremony, the Finance Department presented the state budget for the financial year 2023-24 as of June and the expenditure incurred so far. At the secretary-level meeting chaired by the Chief Secretary, emphasis was laid on the utilisation of the central grant and funds received under the special assistance scheme. 

The meeting also discussed the IEC and public awareness programmes by folk artistes conducted by the Department of Information and Public Relations and the Department of Odia Language, Literature and Culture.

In the meeting, the secretaries were urged to pay attention to the cases that could not be resolved at grievance meetings in different districts and departments. The meeting also discussed about steps taken to resolve pending pension cases and filling-up various vacant posts. 

The meeting also emphasized speeding up ongoing programmes of various departments for the development of the ‘Swabhiman Anchal’ and ‘KBK’ area under the Socio-Economic Transformation and Upliftment Project (SETU). 

Topics like the modernization of various training programmes at Gopbandhu Academy of Administration and the training of newly-recruited officers in various departments were also discussed.
