In a major decision, the authorities of the Veer Surendra Sai University of Technology (VSSUT), Burla have issued a notice banning vehicles inside the campus.

In its latest notice, VSSUT has informed all the boarders, who are in possession of vehicles such as two and four-wheelers, not to keep vehicles in the Hall of Residence premises or University campus.

“The decision has been taken for the safety of students and in view of past incidents where several students had lost their lives in road accidents,” said VSSUT Vice-chancellor, Bansidhar Majhi.

Majhi further informed that the varsity is encouraging students to use bicycles and not to keep vehicles in hostels.

As per the notice, the VSSUT has advised the boarders who are in possession of vehicles to vacate the vehicle from the premises.

“We have already advised hostel boarders to refrain from keeping two-wheelers on the campus in April this year. We have once again issued this notice because of the beginning of a fresh batch. We encourage the students to use bicycles,” said the Vice Chancellor of VSSUT, Bansidhar Majhi.

“We will take undertakings from parents to not provide boarders with vehicles,” Panda added.
