No reapplication needed for 2 lakh excluded Subhadra applicants: Dy CM Pravati Parida
The third installment of the Subhadra Yojana is set to be disbursed on August 9, with Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi scheduled to release the funds during a special event in Jeypore. The one-time financial aid will benefit over one crore women across the state.
Ahead of the distribution, a high-level steering committee meeting was held under the chairmanship of Chief Secretary Manoj Ahuja to review the implementation of the scheme and plan the next phase.
The committee also discussed adding new eligible women above the age of 21 and finalising the exclusion criteria. Women who turn 60 years of age by March 30, 2026, will no longer be eligible under the scheme.
The government also stressed the importance of public feedback on the utilization of funds by beneficiaries. A structured mechanism will be introduced to collect suggestions and assess the social impact of the scheme.
The Subhadra Yojana, launched to empower women through direct financial support, continues to be a key welfare initiative of the state government.
“The 2 lakh applicants who have been excluded, their applications are with the government. No further application is required. Those who are eligible will get the benefits after verification,” said Pravati Parida, deputy Chief Minister.
“Statutory meeting of the state-level committee held under the chairmanship of Chief Secretary. The next installment will be released on July 9,” said Krutibas Rout, Additional Secretary.
