No govt official can leave headquarters during holidays till September 16: Odisha govt

Through a notification, the General Administration and Public Grievances Department has stated that no government official shall be allowed to leave the headquarters during the government holidays from September 14 to September 16, 2024.

The government officials cannot leave the headquarters for the period of three days till September 16, 2024. Such a directive has been issued by the Odisha government in view of administrative emergencies.

Through a notification, the General Administration and Public Grievances Department has stated that no government official shall be allowed to leave the headquarters during the government holidays from September 14 to September 16, 2024. If required, the government officials shall report to the office on short notice, the notification read.

While September 14 is a government holiday on account of second Saturday, there is also a holiday tomorrow (Sunday) and Monday (September 16) is also a government holiday on the occasion of Eid-e-Milad which marks the birth and death anniversary of Prophet Mohammad.

Speculations are rife that such directives have been issued in view of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s scheduled visit to Odisha on September 17.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi is scheduled to visit the state for the launch of the much-awaited Subhadra Yojana of the newly formed BJP government in Odisha.
