The apartment burgled
Despite police patrolling, CCTV surveillance, and private security arrangements, there is no end to burglaries in Bhubaneswar. Apartments in the Capital City are increasingly being targeted by miscreants, who continue to throw a challenge to the Commissionerate Police.
The latest case in point is Srikshetra Residence apartment in the Bharatpur area where a flat was burgled last night and the act was captured in the CCTV cameras installed in the apartment.
As per reports, Trilochan Das, a senior citizen, stays in one of the flats of the apartment. As Das was out of station, miscreants broke into his flat and decamped with gold jewellery and valuable articles worth Rs 5 lakh. A complaint has been filed at the police station in this regard.
Expressing concerns, Trilochan Das said, “Miscreants have taken away gold bangles, anklets, some silver ornaments, a laptop, costly Sambalpuri and cotton sarees and other articles worth nearly Rs 5 lakh.”
He added that the miscreants broke into the flat after cutting the gates with cutters. Meanwhile, police have started an investigation into the burglary.
As per reports, in the last 25 days, burglaries have been reported from around 10 apartments in Bhubaneswar.
