Board of Secondary Education (BSE) President, Srikant Tarai, did not resolve the confusion surrounding the Special Odisha Teacher Eligibility Test (Special OTET) 2025 during a press meet on Saturday.

Tarai refrained from giving a clear answer on whether the Special OTET would be held on August 31. However, he assured that if the exam is not conducted on August 31, it will be held very soon.

Tarai further informed that a committee is currently working to ensure the proper conduct of the examination.

"There are many stages of Special OTET, like question preparation, distribution, printing, distribution to respective centres, allotment of invigilators at the centre, arrangement of candidates at the centres, etc. This process is time-consuming. A review is going on to conduct the examination in a proper manner and on time. It is being reviewed by the committee, and I can't tell you about it right now. But I want to tell the teacher friends that the examination will be conducted shortly," said President Srikant Tarai.

Earlier,  BSE had officially announced that the Special OTET 2025 will be conducted on August 31 and the examination will be held in two sittings on the same day.

The Special OTET-2025, scheduled to be held on July 20 for in-service primary school teachers across the state, was cancelled unexpectedly and postponed indefinitely following a late-night notification. The announcement followed the leak of the special OTET question paper, which led to the postponement of the exam scheduled for July 20.
