Good news for Nature and wildlife lovers! Night safari began at the Chandaka-Dampara Wildlife Sanctuary in Bhubaneswar on Monday.

As per reports, PCCF (Wildlife) Susanta Nanda inaugurated the night safari allowing tourists and wildlife lovers to move inside the sanctuary to enjoy the sylvan beauty, along with a chance to catch glimpses of wild animals during the night.

On the inaugural day, the Forest Department made provisions for a nocturnal trail for students of different schools in the sanctuary. A dozen of safari vehicles were arranged for the students. The nocturnal trail started at Bharatpur section of the sanctuary. The night safari will remain open till 9:30 pm. sources said. 

The night trail programme is expected to come in handy for students, nature/wildlife lovers, and researchers as they will have a chance to learn about local flora and fauna.

And, the night safari will be more suitable for those lacking time during the day to visit the sanctuary, which is home to several wildlife species like deer, elephants, barking deer, porcupines, and boars.
