Commissionerate Police intensifies checking in Bhubaneswar
Odisha Excise Minister Prithiviraj Harichandan has issued a stern warning against violations of excise laws during New Year celebrations. Speaking to the media in Bhubaneswar, the minister cautioned that stringent actions will be taken against those involved in illegal liquor sales and disruptive activities under the influence of alcohol.
In a bid to ensure a safe and disciplined New Year, the Excise Department is focusing on two critical aspects- preventing public disturbances caused by intoxicated individuals and curbing the sale of illegal liquor, the minister informed.
"Stringent action will be taken against those who will be found violating the law," Harichandan said.
With the countdown to New Year’s Eve already underway, the department has ramped up preparations to tackle potential challenges during the festivities, especially during the much-anticipated Zero Night celebrations.
