Odisha Assembly
Beneficiaries, who have submitted applications in the past one month, will get new ration cards after e-KYC verification in Odisha. Barabati-Cuttack MLA Sofia Firdous on Wednesday sought a response from the Consumer Welfare Minister that around 10 lakh people have applied for ration cards and they are waiting for it.
As the concerned department minister was absent during the Assembly proceedings, Higher Education Minister Suryabanshi Suraj informed the House that completion of e-KYC verification within a stipulated time frame is not mandatory.
According to Suraj, e-KYC verification is a sensitive matter and hence the government has appealed to people to get the process completed at the earliest.
