Calls for Justice and Safety

The Akhil Bharatiya Nepali Ekta Samaj Committee, an organisation representing the Nepalese community in India, has appealed for justice regarding this tragic event. A committee member stated, “What has happened is not good. We hope this does not happen to anyone else.”

“Whatever is happening is not right. No matter if it is a girl or a boy, or any other person from London, Odisha, Nepal, or anywhere else. Such things should stop happening. We want justice. We should raise our voice, not because she was a Nepali student. We should raise our voice so that no one else goes through this. Everyone should be safe. So, we want justice for Prisha,” Kaushalya Parihar, a Nepali community member, stated.

Likewise, another community member, Giriraj said, “Students come here with a lot of hope and future ambitions. But, there is no security guaranteed for them, be it a Nepali, Bengali, or Odia student. We demand accountability. Repeated incidents of death are highly condemnable and show the University is failing in its duties.”
