The National Cadet Corps (NCC) continues to play a transformative role in shaping the youth of the country into disciplined, responsible citizens and future leaders, said Odisha Governor Dr. Hari Babu Kambhampati. He was addressing a state-level seminar titled “NCC – A Force Multiplier in Nation Building” at the OUAT Auditorium on Saturday.

The event was organized by the NCC Directorate, Odisha, and brought together a wide spectrum of stakeholders from defence, academia, and administration.

Commending the NCC's multifaceted approach, the Odisha Governor described it as a dynamic youth initiative that goes beyond drills and uniforms.

“The NCC instills in young minds the values of discipline, service, and nation-first thinking, which are essential for building a resilient and progressive India,” he said.

Dr. Kambhampati appreciated the diverse themes discussed at the seminar, including national security, youth development, cultural integration, and the increasing relevance of digital tools and government policies. He noted that these discussions reflect NCC’s growing role in addressing the contemporary needs of society and the nation.

Highlighting the significance of the seminar’s first session, the Governor said it effectively illustrated how the NCC serves as a bridge between young citizens and the Armed Forces. He praised the organization’s emphasis on leadership development, character formation, and social responsibility.

Particularly noteworthy, he said, is the NCC’s inclusive approach—bringing together youth from tribal regions, remote rural belts, and urban centers, and empowering young women to take on leadership roles.

“This inclusivity aligns with Odisha’s broader development goals and ensures that no segment of our youth is left behind,” Dr. Kambhampati remarked.

The Governor extended his heartfelt gratitude to the NCC officers, cadets, and organizers, commending their commitment and passion. “Your enthusiasm and dedication offer immense hope for India’s future,” he said.

Expressing optimism, Dr. Kambhampati added that the seminar would not only reinforce the spirit of the NCC in Odisha but also serve as a catalyst for its further expansion and impact on national development.

The event saw participation from senior military veterans, government officials, university faculty members, and a large number of NCC cadets and Associate NCC Officers, making it a meaningful gathering focused on youth empowerment and nation-building.
