Naveen Patnaik discharged from hospital
Odisha Leader of Opposition (LoP) and BJD supremo Naveen Patnaik was discharged on Wednesday from a private hospital in Bhubaneswar after recovering well. He was admitted on the afternoon of the 17th due to dehydration and was undergoing treatment.
Following his recovery, Naveen Patnaik went straight to his residence from the hospital.
“Thank you to all Odisha brothers and sisters, who prayed for me while I was ill. I also want to thank all the people for their blessings and the hospital for the great care they took of me. I’m very well,” Naveen said after discharge from the hospital.
During his hospitalisation, Prime Minister Narendra Modi and several eminent personalities wished him a speedy recovery.
PM Modi reportedly spoke to Naveen Patnaik last night and inquired about his health, and conveyed his best wishes for a swift and full recovery.
“PM Narendra Modi spoke to Naveen Patnaik today in the hospital. He enquired about his health and wished him a speedy recovery,” the statement, issued by the office of the leader of opposition, said.
It also said, "The PM suggested that Patnaik should take rest for some time, and invited him to come to Delhi soon."
Notably, Patnaik underwent a procedure for cervical arthritis since June 22, after his personal doctor, Dr Ramakant Panda, coordinated for the same. Patnaik also urged party supporters to come to his residence, the Naveen Niwas, after his discharge from the hospital.
