Good news for wildlife lovers. A cheetah will be brought from a Dubai-based zoo to the Nandankanan Zoological Park in January 2024. This was stated by the Principal Chief Conservator of Forests (PPCF- Wildlife) Susanta Nanda on Wednesday.

The PCCF also added that apart from the cheetah, two cubs of white lions will also be brought from Dubai while a giraffe will be brought from Alipore Zoo in Kolkata as part of the animal exchange programmes.

“We are trying to bring these animals in January after it was mutually agreed in this regard. Apart from a cheetah, two cubs of white lions, a giraffe, and some birds, which we don’t have here, will be brought to the Nandankanan Zoo,” said the PCCF.

In September this year, Nandankanan had brought a pair of Hoolock Gibbon, a pair of pig-tailed macaques, and a Himalayan Black Bear from Aizwal Zoological Park in Mizoram.

In March this year, a pair of tigers of Nandankanan had been sent to Aizwal Zoological Park.
