In a significant development regarding the Naba Das murder case, Minati Das, wife of the late BJD MLA, has formally sought an appointment with Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi. Reports suggest that she aims to discuss the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) probe into her husband's murder.

Formal Request Submitted:

According to sources, Minati Das has sent an email to the Chief Minister on March 11 requesting a meeting. In addition to the email, a postal letter was also dispatched with the same appeal. Bishal Das, the couple's son, confirmed this information and highlighted his mother's intent to directly address the issue with the Chief Minister.

Law Minister’s Statement Sparks Action

The request comes in the wake of recent remarks by Law Minister Prithiviraj Harichandan, who stated that family members must submit a formal written appeal if they wish to initiate a CBI investigation into the case. Acting on this, Minati Das has taken the step of formally reaching out to the Chief Minister's office.

Odisha Police Probes Cook’s Death:

Meanwhile, in recent developments, Odisha police carried on its investigation into the death of Naba Das’ cook, Lalit Sahu.

Data Operator Questioned:

As per sources, in early March, authorities summoned and probed data operator Vikash Mahawar, who shared his observations and explained his actions on the particular day when Sahu’s body was found hanging in the Jharsuguda residence of Naba Das.

Reinvestigation Ordered:

The probe had opened after Odisha Director General of Police (DGP) YB Khurania directed the Jharsuguda Superintendent of Police (SP) to reinvestigate the mysterious death case of Sahu after his father Belalsen Sahu had written a letter expressing dissatisfaction over the investigation.
