Naba Das murder case: Accused Gopal Das ready to confess to his crime

Dismissed policeman Gopal Das was produced before the Jharsuguda District Judge Court on Wednesday in connection with the murder of former Odisha Health Minister Naba Kishore Das.

He was brought to the court from Choudwar jail by the Odisha Crime Branch amid tight security.

The case was transferred to the Additional District Judge (ADJ) Court. The next hearing of the case has been scheduled on August 8.

“Gopal was produced before the Jharsuguda District Judge Court today as per the date. Now the case has been transferred to ADJ Court. I have been appointed as the State counsel. I will take the next course of action after examining the documents submitted by the police before the Court,” said advocate Naresh Nayak.

“As Gopal said that he has no lawyer for his defense in the Court, Naresh Nayak has been appointed as the State counsel. Gopal was ready to confess to his crime before the Court today. However, the Court advised him to have his confession before the ADJ Court during the next date of trial,” said advocate Satya Bohidar.
