The Odisha government has merged the second campus of Maharaja Sriram Chandra Bhanja Deo (MSCB) University with Keonjhar's Dharanidhar University. 

The Dharanidhar University was accorded the status of a varsity in February this year. 

The Odisha Higher Education Department said that the merger has been done under Section 32 of the Odisha Universities Act 1989.

All the students enrolled at the second campus of MSCB will continue to be under the jurisdiction of MSCB till completion of their course, the official notification stated.  

The teaching faculties of the second campus of MSCB University who opted for Dharanidhar University will be absorbed against the vacancy in the DDU as the posts of 2nd campus are also absorbed in the DDU.

Accordingly, new admissions will be under the DDU, Keonjhar from the date of incorporation of DDU or any other date as decided by DDU.

No fresh admission of students will be made in the second campus of MSCB University with effect from 2023-24. Fresh admission will be done under DDU. 

The official notification further mentioned that all the liabilities and litigations related to the second campus of MSCB University will be booked after by DDU from the date of the notification.
