3 killed in road mishap in Odisha

At least three persons, including two college students, died in tragic road mishaps in Angul and Bolangir districts on Sunday. As per initial reports, all three deceased were out on a morning walk when unknown vehicles hit two of them.

Sources said that the two college students died after being hit by an unknown vehicle at NH-49 in Pallahara in Angul district. The deceased have been identified as Sadhu Samad and Babuli Sunti. Both were plus II students of Malyagiri College.

Similarly, a youth was killed after being run over by a speeding pickup van at Patnagarh in Bolangir district today. The pickup van fled the spot soon after the accident.

Irate over the incidents, the locals staged a road blockade demanding the immediate arrest of the driver of the pickup van. The movement of vehicular traffic on the Bolangir-Patnagarh has been affected following the road blockade agitation.
