The Narendra Modi government will provide pucca houses to tribal people, said Union Minister of State for Tribal Affairs Bishweswar Tudu on Friday.
Addressing a press conference in Odisha, the Minister said, “The Prime Minister has taken steps to bring the tribal people into the mainstream of the society. He has plans for their development in fields like education, empowerment and health, and to provide clean drinking water, pucca house and electricity.”
“For the proper implementation of the plans, the Tribal Affair Ministry recently organised a workshop of nine concerned departments. A blue-print has also been prepared,” he informed.
On the other hand, the Biju Janata Dal (BJD) leader Bhupinder Singh termed, what the Union Minister of State for Tribal Affairs said, as ‘poll jumla’.
“Naveen Patnaik is steps ahead of the Central government in thinking about the development of the people. This is why they (the BJP) have now come up with this programme. This is nothing but a poll jumla and they will come with more such jumlas ahead of polls,” he added.
