Congress MLA, Ex MLA Face Off In Event
At a time when the people in different parts of Odisha were soaked in devotion, Congress MLA Tara Prasad Bahinipati and former MLA Rabi Nanda engaged in a verbal duel on stage during a special event organised in Jeypore on the occasion of the Puri Parikrama project inauguration on Wednesday.
Both leaders were seen targeting each other through their speeches from the dais on the occasion on Wednesday.
Bahinipati’s supporters raised ‘Rabi Nanda Go Back’ slogans in protest. Following the ruckus, police officials reached the spot, but failed to pacify the agitators.
The Congress MLA vehemently opposed Nanda’s remarks and went on to say, “Ex will always remain Ex.”
In his response, Nanda clarified, “Without taking any names, I had sought for forgiveness for those, who are making objectionable comments on Jagannath like Usa, Mausa and Paunsa. The way Tara Prasad Bahinipati reacted by stating that he would have stalled today’s event if he wanted is totally uncalled for.”
Congress MLA, Tara Prasad Bahinipati said, “The people of Jeypore are hurt by the way the ex-MLA made objectionable remarks against me. Everybody has condemned it. It is for this reason that people have rejected him.”
