Missing YouTuber Sagar Kundu’s body recovered in Duduma Waterfalls
In a shocking turn of events, the body of YouTuber Sagar Kundu, who was swept away in the Duduma Waterfalls in Odisha’s Koraput district, was finally recovered after over 10 days on Wednesday.
His body was recovered approximately 3 kilometers away from the Machkund Hydro Power Project.
According to police sources, the YouTuber had reportedly gone missing on the 23rd of August while shooting a video near the waterfalls. Despite continuous search operations by local authorities and rescue teams, the YouTuber could not be traced for several days.
The body was found in a highly mutilated state, without the head. Investigators have also recovered a mobile phone from the site, which is expected to help in further investigation.
Sources said Sagar, accompanied by his friend Abhijit Behera from Cuttack, was capturing aerial footage of the falls using a drone to create content for his YouTube channel. While attempting to film from a higher vantage point, he accidentally slipped into the fast-flowing water.
Local residents and fellow content creators expressed shock over the incident, raising concerns about safety measures at tourist and adventure shooting spots like Duduma. Officials have confirmed that an inquiry has been initiated to determine the exact cause of death and the circumstances that led to the tragic mishap.
Authorities have urged visitors and adventure enthusiasts to exercise extreme caution in high-risk zones near the waterfalls, which are known for their strong currents and slippery rocks.
