In a tragic accident, a minor girl riding pillion with her parents on a bike lost her hand and is now battling for life in Odisha’s Kalahandi. The mishap was reported from Utkela under Kalahandi’s Kesinga police limits.

As per reports, the girl from Mangalpur village under Jaypatna block was on her way to attend a marriage party of one of her relatives at Balasi village in Kesinga.

While riding the bike, the girl’s scarf got entangled in the rear wheel of the bike. However, without asking to stop the bike, the girl suddenly leaned down and tried to pull the scarf from the wheel spokes.

The spinning wheel of the running bike pulled her right hand with the scarf and severed it. Her plight did not end there.

When her parents stopped the bike and tried to get the severed hand, a stray dog came from nowhere and fled with the hand in its mouth.

Her parents immediately rushed her to Bhawanipatna hospital. She was later shifted to VIMSAR Burla after her condition became critical due to excess blood loss. She is currently under treatment at the hospital.
