A minor girl from Odisha was allegedly murdered in Rajanakunte area of Bengaluru. The deceased was identified as Khusi Behera, daughter of Sasmita Behera of Badabag in Jagatsinghpur district. Police have started an investigation into the alleged murder of the minor girl, sources said.

As per reports, Sasmita was married to a youth 14 years ago in Dasapalla of Nayagarh district. Her husband died two years ago. The couple has two kids from this wedlock. Thereafter, Sasmita came back to her parental house along with her minor daughter Khusi and a son. Later, she married a youth of Bhadrak. After the marriage, the couple went to Bengaluru where they worked in a private company.

Sasmita’s minor daughter was found murdered near her rented residence under Rajanakunte police limits on Saturday morning. The couple and neighbours were shocked to see such a horrific incident. They were reportedly clueless about who killed the minor girl and the reason behind the murder. Police have seized the body and started an investigation into the matter, sources said.

However, Babuli Behera, maternal grandfather of the deceased, alleged that Khusi had talked to him over phone five days ago.

“Khusi said she was being tortured and wanted to return to the village. Even my daughter asked me to bring up Khusi at our home. I am shocked to know that my granddaughter was hacked to death on Saturday morning. I do not know who killed her. I demand justice for my granddaughter and punishment for the killer/s,” he added
