Panic gripped the residents of the state capital after earthquake tremors of mild intensity were felt in Bhubaneswar and nearby areas after an earthquake struck Odisha on Sunday. The tremors were felt for about several seconds, leading to panic among the residents.
As per the latest reports, there was no report of any damage to life or property.
The mild tremors were felt by the residents of several localities in Bhubaneswar on Sunday morning. However, an official confirmation is awaited from the India Meteorological Department (IMD) in connection with the mild tremors.
"I was sleeping when I heard a noise and later experienced mild tremors," said a local resident of Bhubaneswar. Another resident also said to have experienced the tremors in Bhubaneswar.
"I was out for a morning walk between 7:10 and 7:15 am when first I heard a sound and experienced some dizziness. It was after some time that I learnt from others that it was an earthquake," said another local resident.
Meanwhile, things are likely to get clear only after the National Centre for Seismology shares updates regarding the intensity and epicenter of the earthquake.
