In yet another step towards realiasation of the Metro train service from Bhubaneswar airport to Trishulia Square, the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation Limited (DMRC) has sought a detailed report from the Odisha Rail Infrastructure Development Limited (ORIDL).

In a letter (dated April 18, 2013), the DMRC sought secondary data like Comprehensive Mobility Plan (CMP) of Bhubaneswar, future development plans & land use plans for Bhubaneswar, all databases from CMP including passenger origin—destination matrices, Bhubaneswar ward map and ward-wise demographic details including number of population, City Bus route map with stops on background of Bhubaneswar road network, average daily city bus passenger origin—destination and stop-wise boarding alighting data and past 10 years modewise registered vehicle numbers of Bhubaneswar from the ORIDL.

The DMRC in the letter has said the data is required for the preparation of a detailed project report (DPR) for a Rail Based Mass Rapid Transit System (Elevated Corridor) covering the route from Bhubaneswar airport to Trishulia Square.

But as per the information available, the Urban Development Department doesn’t have the Comprehensive Mobility Plan (CMP) of Bhubaneswar. So the report prepared by the Bhubaneswar Development Authority is learnt to be provided.
