Men in suits loot jewellery, cash from wedding venue at luxury hotel in Bhubaneswar

In a bold heist, elegantly dressed looters allegedly executed a well-planned robbery at a luxury hotel in Bhubaneswar amidst a wedding celebration.

The gang members, who notably clad themselves in suits, managed to abscond with diamonds and gold valued at approximately Rs 10 lakh, alongside a further Rs 2.5 lakh in cash while everyone was busy during the marriage ceremony at Suryansh Hotels & Resorts in the Capital city.

OTV has laid its hands on the CCTV footage that has captured the brazen act. In the CCTV video, a man is seen fleeing with a bag allegedly containing jewellery and cash. 

Following the incident, Maitri Vihar Police has launched an intensified investigation to apprehend those responsible for the crime.

"The miscreants came along with the Baratis and decamped with gold and diamond jewellery worth around Rs 14 lakh and cash which was gifted by the relatives during the marriage," said Saroj Mishra, the victim.

"We immediately informed the hotel authorities and police about the matter. We are hopeful that the police will be able to nab the looters," Mishra added.

“We thought hotel will be a safer place to host the marriage as it has CCTV surveillance and restricted movements of guests. But after this loot incident, we cannot trust anyone,” he stated.

Meanwhile, the concerned hotel is yet to respond to the incident.
