The Special Operations Group (SOG) and District Voluntary Force (DVF) in a joint combing operation busted a Maoist camp in the Budhakhol forest of the Boudh district. A huge cache of IED landmines, electric wires, and other explosives were seized from the spot.

Acting on a tip-off, the combing team launched a search operation at Budhakhol forest. On sensing the movements of the SOG Jawans, the Maoists opened fire at them. In retaliation, the Jawans also fired back forcing the Maoists to flee the spot.

No Maoists could be detained during the operation. However, the combing team, apart from the explosives, also recovered some batteries, Maoist uniforms and literature, medicines, and other items from the camp.

According to sources, combing operations by security forces are continuing in the forest. There has been no report of any casualty till now.
