Man with 1 kg gold concealed in rectum nabbed at Bhubaneswar airport

A man who was allegedly smuggling 1 kg of gold concealed in his rectum was arrested by Customs officials at the Biju Patnaik International Airport in Bhubaneswar on Wednesday. The officials have reportedly recovered the gold.

As per reports, after a flight from Bangkok landed in Bhubaneswar, Customs officials started checking. The accused, reportedly a non-Odia, had concealed 1 kg of gold in his rectum which was detected during the checking.
 
Surprisingly, the hidden gold in the body had not been detected even though he passed through a scanner.

Customs officials had intelligence inputs about the suspected person. After he alighted from the flight, the officials took the person inside a toilet and recovered the yellow metal. 

An investigation into the matter is underway. 

However, no comments were received from the Customs officials.
