After the power outage fiasco at Maharaja Sriram Chandra Bhanja Deo University, another incident of security breach and risks during President Droupadi Murmu’s Odisha visit has now come to the fore.

A man identified as Jaswant Behera recently posted a selfie with the chopper of the First Citizen of India on social media, triggering serious apprehension about the existing security measures.

As per reports, Murmu visited the Similipal Tiger Reserve (STR) in Mayurbhanj district on Friday. She visited Similipal by road after landing with the chopper at Chheligodhuli helipad near Jashipur.

Behera, who is a pharmacist by profession, was on duty near the helipad.

Taking advantage of the situation, Behera allegedly breached the security blanket and managed to take a selfie with the chopper. He also posted the picture on social media.

However, Behera reportedly deleted the post after questions were raised over security measures. Later, Behera admitted to having taken the selfie to make the visit of the President memorable for him.

Meanwhile, police forces have drawn flak due to their lackadaisical attitude in undertaking adequate security measures during President’s visit.

As per sources, police resorted to favourtism in providing entry passes to different people which led to the fiasco,

Earlier yesterday, unprecedented scenes were witnessed during Murmu’s speech at Maharaja Sriram Chandra Bhanja Deo University in Mayurbhanj’s Baripada when her speech was disrupted by power outage .
