Allegations of murder by family members surfaced after the mutilated body of a man was found inside his house in Joragadia village under the Bhadrak rural police station on Thursday morning.

The deceased was identified as Satyasundar Nayak. Locals found him dead in a pool of blood with grievous injury marks all over his body. Further, his wife and son, the only two family members who lived with him, were nowhere to be found. Following this, local police were informed.

Reports indicated that the man was engaged in some domestic dispute with his wife for a long time and the duo used to frequently engage in heated altercations.

As such, the man’s neighbours have alleged foul play and demanded a police probe for murder.

“We found him with his hands and legs broken and lying in a pool of blood. It is clear that he was attacked and murdered,” claimed Amulya Nayak, a friend of the deceased.

Neighbours also stated that Nayak’s wife and son had locked the door and windows from the outside before leaving for some undisclosed location. The nature of events, however, felt suspicious to neighbours, leading to the alarming discovery.

“Many people claimed that the man was left for dead in the house so we tried to look into the house and found him lying dead,” stated a neighbour.
