In a shocking incident, a 50-year-old man died while two others were hospitalised while trying to rescue a cat that had fallen into a 60-ft well in Patia area, Bhubaneswar. The deceased has been identified as Sibaram Sahu who hails from Ganjam district.

As per sources, Sibaram used to earn a living by selling ice cream and is survived by two daughters. Sibaram's elder brother, Bhajaman Sahu informed that initially, he had gone inside the well to rescue the cat. But he failed in his attempt.

"I had entered the well, but came out soon as I could not breathe due to gas inside the well," said Bhajaman.

After Bhajaman, Sibaram went inside the well and fell unconscious. Seeing this, two other youths went inside to rescue Sibaram, and both of them also get trapped inside the well.

On getting information, a team of fire services personnel rushed to the spot and launched a rescue operation. Two of the youths have been admitted to the hospital in critical condition.
