Makeshift huts on Udaypur beach razed over sex racket allegations

A day after OTV telecast a story on a sex racket running from makeshift huts on Udaypur sea beach in Balasore, the district administration on Thursday launched a drive to raze the huts.

According to a source, acting on the direction of the Balasore district Collector, Bhogarai tehsildar, Sushant Patnaik reached the spot and ordered an eviction drive after carrying out a measurement of land. 

In the presence of three platoons of police force and staff of the electricity, fire, excise, and revenue departments, the huts were pulled down by two bulldozers.

Locals heaped praise on the district administration for taking action against the sex racket after OTV reported the matter. 
‘As per the direction of the Collector, around one hour time was given to them to take their valuables,” said Sushant Patnaik, Bhogarai tehsildar. 

“After getting reports of some illegal activities going on in the area, an eviction drive was launched today,” informed Dilip Sahu, Jaleswar SDPO.
