The cyclonic circulation created over Gulf of Thailand reportedly moved on to the Andaman Sea on November 13 (Monday). Under its influence, a low-pressure area is likely to form over Southeast Bay of Bengal around November 14, informed the India Meteorological Department on Monday.

The system is likely to move west-northwestwards and intensify into a depression over Central and adjoining South Bay of Bengal around November 16.

Rain forecast for Odisha:

Day 1 (Valid from 8:30am of 15.11.2023 to 8:30am of 16.11.2023)

Light to moderate rain/ thundershower is very likely to occur at a few places over the districts of South Coastal Odisha, Malkangiri, Koraput, Rayagada, Cuttack, Jagatsinghpur and at one or two places over the districts of Balasore, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Kendrapara. Dry weather is very likely to prevail over the rest of the districts of Odisha.

Day 2 (Valid from 8:30am of 16.11.2023 to 8:30am of 17.11.2023)

Light to moderate rain/ thundershower is very likely to occur at a few places over the districts of Coastal Odisha, Dhenkanal, Mayurbhanj, Keonjhar and at one or two places over the districts of Angul, Boudh, Kalahandi, Kandhamal, Rayagada, Koraput, Malkangiri. Dry weather very likely to prevail over the rest of the districts of Odisha.

Day 3 (Valid from 8:30am of 17.11.2023 to 8:30am of 18.11.2023)

Light to moderate rain/ thundershower is very likely to occur at a few places over the districts of North Coastal Odisha, Mayurbhanj, Keonjhar, Angul, Dhenkanal, Boudh, Nayagarh, Khordha, Puri and at one or two places over the districts of Sundargarh, Deogarh, Kandhamal, Kalahandi, Ganjam, Gajapati, Rayagada, Nabarangpur, Koraput, Malkangiri. Dry weather is very likely to prevail over the rest of the districts of Odisha.

Day 4 (Valid from 8:30am of 18.11.2023 to 8:30am of 19.11.2023)

Light to moderate rain/ thundershower is very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of North Coastal Odisha, Mayurbhanj, Keonjhar and dry weather very likely to prevail over the rest of the districts of Odisha.

As per the IMD, dry weather is likely to prevail over all the districts of Odisha for the next two days with night temperature remaining the same.
