Lord Ganesh idol goes missing from pandal; puja committee lodges complaint

Every year, youths across Odisha eagerly await for Ganesh puja and decorate mandaps/pandals with pomp and grandeur. Ganesh Chaturthi is one of the most important festivals for students as well as youngsters as they make preparations from selecting idols to decorating mandaps much in advance.

In a bizarre incident, a Lord Ganesh idol has reportedly gone missing from a puja mandap in Odisha’s Bolangir. The incident has been reported from Gahirapadar village. The puja committee members have lodged a complaint at Bangomunda Police Station in connection with the theft of the Ganesh idol from their mandap.

The committee members informed that all of them had gone to attend a cultural programme last night. Upon returning, they found that the Ganesh idol was missing from the mandap.

It is unclear why the Ganesh idol was allegedly stolen from the mandap. Even no comments could be obtained from the concerned officials of the police station over the incident.
