Loot of money from ATMs in Odisha capital with unique trick, CCTV footages surface

As per sources, the looteras stuck adhesive black tapes on the bottoms of the ATMs. Due to the tape, the money used to get stuck inside the machine and most of the people thought that it was a technical glitch and left the ATM kiosk without collecting the money.

CCTV footage of ATM loot surfaces in Bhubaneswar

Miscreants are currently adopting a unique trick by sticking adhesive black tapes on the bottoms of several ATMs in Odisha and duping several people who visited the kiosks to withdraw money.

As per sources, a lootera gang from another state has come to Odisha on the occasion of the upcoming festive season and they are mostly duping people at several ATMs in Bhubaneswar, Cuttack and Puri.

As many as two complaints in this regard have been lodged at two different police stations of Bhubaneswar. Some CCTV footages of those loot incidents have reportedly surfaced.

Based on the complaints and the CCTV footages, police have launched an investigation into the loot incidents.

As per sources, the looteras stuck adhesive black tapes on the bottoms of the ATMs. Due to the tape, the money used to get stuck inside the machine and most of the people thought that it was a technical glitch and left the ATM kiosk without collecting the money.

Subsequently, the looteras removed the cash. Moreover, they made the accounts of the victims empty later by using dummy ATM cards. They have reportedly duped several people using the same modus operandi in several ATM kiosks across Odisha.

The new modus operandi of the looteras came to light after the CCTV footages at some ATM kiosks emerged. Police have been put on alert to check the fraudulent activities in the State.
