Koraput landslide disrupts traffic
Continuous rainfall in Koraput has triggered landslides, causing major disruption in transportation. In the Laxmipur block, the Kakiriguma road was blocked after mudslide, leaving both sides of transport completely stopped.
Similarly, on the Boriput road connecting Narayanpatna and Talagumandi, boulders from the hill fell onto the stretch, blocking the way. As a result, bus services, along with the movement of other large vehicles, have been obstructed.
The incessant rainfall in the Koraput region has disrupted daily life, with landslides leaving large portions of roads covered in soil and boulders. The situation has paralysed vehicular movement in several stretches, causing inconvenience to commuters.
The local administration has acknowledged the situation and confirmed that personnel would be sent to clear the blocked roads. As per the latest reports, steps were being taken to restore connectivity by removing the debris caused by the landslide.
The landslides and falling boulders have resulted in severe traffic disruptions. Local residents have demanded that the administration take immediate measures to clear the roads, particularly to ensure access for emergencies. The situation has highlighted the vulnerability of the hilly terrain to heavy rains and the urgent need for effective road clearance.
