Land for mega steel plant in Keonjhar to be acquired soon: Odisha CM
Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi on Sunday announced that land acquisition for proposed mega steel plant in Keonjhar to begin soon.
During his two-day visit to the district, he reviewed several development projects. The project construction work will begin shortly after key steps are completed, the CM confirmed.

According to official sources, the Chief Minister asserted that Keonjhar will soon be home to a mega steel plant, with preparations already in advanced stages.
“The process has moved two steps forward, and the company concerned has deposited necessary funds,” said the CM while reviewing development projects.
Speaking during his visit, the CM informed that land acquisition will begin soon, followed by the start of project construction work. The announcement came as part of a broader review of development projects, which are supposed to come up in the region.
“Keonjhar district had been neglected since long days. Lord Jagannath, Lord Baladev Jew and Maa Tarini have blessed us to take the district forward on the path of development,” the CM said while briefing mediapersons.
“Basically, development works for this district is being focused more. Industrialisation along with development works and infrastructure building were discussed today in the presence of legislators,” the CM further said.
The CM arrived at Raisuan Airstrip at 10.00 AM today and travelled by road to the Circuit House, before heading to the District Collector’s office. There, CM Majhi inaugurated three ambulance vehicles, including Matarani Nadia Sangraha Gadi, and Ekal Shiksha Rath aimed at promoting education.
Majhi later chaired a district-level review meeting in Darbar Hall. In the afternoon, he also attended the final match of Sahani Cup Football Tournament at Keonjhar Stadium as the Chief Guest. He returned to Circuit House by 5.10 PM to stay overnight in Keonjhar.
As per his official itinerary, the CM is scheduled to return to Bhubaneswar from Raisuan Airstrip at 2.15 PM tomorrow.
