Kendrapara MP Baijayant Panda at Lala Lajpat Rai's commemoration
The death anniversary of Punjab Kesari Lala Lajpat Rai was observed on Sunday at the Lajpat Bhawan auditorium in New Delhi. BJP national Vice President and Kendrapara MP Baijayant Panda attended the event as chief guest organised by Lok Sevak Mandal.
During the programme, Baijayant Panda paid floral tributes to the statue of Lala Lajpat Rai. He highlighted the importance of Lala Lajpat Rai's life and the need for his guidance in present times. Additionally, Panda expressed appreciation for the works of the Lok Sevak Mandal during disasters like floods and cyclones in Odisha.
The event featured students singing 'Vande Mataram' and delivering speeches about Lala Lajpat Rai's life. Following this, the students performed a dance to the song 'Ae Mere Watan Ke Logon'.
“Lala Ji’s sacrifices not only helped us achieve freedom but also are significant even in present times. Perception of Swadhin Bharat within us, free from colonial rule, is still undergoing change. His legacies in the field of education and social service are very impressive,” said Panda.
“Servants of the People Society (SoPS), founded by Lala Ji, has been doing excellent work in my State -- Odisha -- with regard to mass media, education, and social service. This level of education should reach every nook and corner of the country. Legacies of Lala Ji’s Servants of the People Society and Utkalmani Gopabandhu Das Ji are highly appreciated,” the BJP national Vice President expressed.
