With 7.1 degrees, Koraput was the coldest town in Odisha on Thursday, informed the India Meteorological Department (IMD).

Apart from Koraput, Semiliguda recorded 8.3 degree Celsius, G Udaygiri 9, Daringibadi 9.5 degree Celsius as the minimum temperature.

Cuttack city recorded a minimum temperature of 16.2 degrees while the State capital Bhubaneswar recorded 17 degrees as the minimum temperature.

Weather department sources said the temperature is likely to remain above normal by 2 to 3 degree C at many places over the districts of Odisha during the next 5 days.

While no large change in minimum temperature (Night temperature) over the districts of Odisha has been predicted for the next five days, fog conditions are likely to prevail for a day or two.

As per the IMD, shallow to moderate fog is very likely to occur on Friday at a few places over the districts of South Coastal Odisha, Sundargarh, Keonjhar, Angul, Dhenkanal, Jajpur, Cuttack, Jagatsinghpur, Kandhamal, Kalahandi, Koraput, Malkangiri, Rayagada and at one or two places over the rest of the districts of Odisha.
