Due to incessant rainfall in several parts of Odisha, train services between Tigiri and Laliguma in Koraput under the Waltair Division have been affected.

The East Coast Railway (ECoR) on Wednesday cancelled two trains and diverted another train after a boulder fell on tracks connecting Bhubaneswar via Rayagada. There are also reports of mudslides.

As per official sources, Jagdalpur-Rourkela and Rourkela- Jagdalpur trains have been cancelled for today. Similarly, the route of the Jagdalpur-Bhubaneswar Hirakhand Express has been diverted.

A quick action team from Koraput along with the engineering staff rushed to the spot to assess the situation. It is pertinent to mention here that Koraput is experiencing heavy rainfall activities for the past three to four days.

Railway tracks at some portions have also been submerged. The situation is likely to return to normalcy after rainfall activity subsides
