Kolkata horror: BJP Targets TMC
At a time when protests have gained momentum across the nation over the rape and murder of a trainee woman doctor and vandalism at RG Kar Medical College and Hospital, politics has also heated up over the sensitive issue.
Intensifying attack on West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee, Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee, BJP national spokesperson, Guru Prakash Paswan on Friday said that whatever happening on Kolkata streets is giving the shape to a nationwide protest.
“The West Bengal government is meeting the family of the victim but the Principal of the college is appointed in another college. Why is the TMC government providing patronage to criminal elements?”
Paswan questioned. At a presser held in Bhubaneswar, Paswan said that the BJP workers are standing with the victim’s family. It is not the first time that such an incident has been reported in West Bengal. Several similar incidents have been reported in West Bengal. The recent matter is very sensitive and when the Court intervenes, it shows that the government is not at all serious. The Kolkata High Court has clearly stated that justice cannot be delivered by the West Bengal police and hence CBI probe was ordered. The Court has observed that there was a delay in reporting the incident and tampering, he alleged.
The youths, women and common men in Kolkata are filled with anger. BJP and the people across the nation are with the victim’s family and we will ensure that justice will be done at all cost. The reaction of the West Bengal CM that there has been an alliance of BJP and the Left is shameful, he added.
“Is the West Bengal CM daydreaming? Both parties have different ideologies. The CM further stated that efforts are on to create a Bangladesh-like situation. But we want to say that the CM should not make such baseless statements and fuel fear and panic,” Paswan said.
No comments could be obtained by TMC over the BJP spokesperson’s statements.
