In the recent Interim Budget presented by Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman ahead of the 2024 general elections, Rs 11,495 crore outlay has been proposed for the infrastructure development of East Coast Railway (ECoR) for the year 2024-25.
 
Even though it is a decrease of 0.2 percent over last year’s sanction (Rs 11,513.74 crore), there is an increase of Rs 1127.06 crore under Budgetary resources over the last year.

Here are the major budgetary allocations for some ongoing important new line projects: 

Khurda Road-Bolangir (289 km) New Line-Rs 1,350 Crore 

Talcher-Bimlagarh (154 km) New line- Rs 500 crore 

Jeypore-Malkangiri (130 km)- Rs 230 crore 

Jeypore-Nabarangpur(38km)- Rs 235 crore

Janajatiya Gaurav Corridor- Rs 300 crore

Banspani-Daitari-Tomka-Jakhapura (180 km) doubling project- Rs 100 crore 

Talcher-Angul Y connection- Rs 108 crore
