Keonjhar lady cop demands bribe to settle vigilance case, audio goes viral

A woman constable allegedly demanded a bribe from an accused who has been trapped in a vigilance case. The case is under the jurisdiction of the special Vigilance Court.

The audio of the deal between the woman constable, who is working in Keonjhar Vigilance Court, and the accused has gone viral over various social media platforms.

In the audio, the lady cop is heard demanding bribe and making a deal with the accused to settle the case. She is also heard demanding bribe on behalf of the higher authorities.

Following the incident, the concerned lady constable has been transferred to Balasore.

However, the reaction of the lady cop regarding the allegation against her could not be obtained.

Meanwhile, Vigilance SP Narahari Nayak said that he was not aware of the incident.

“I don’t have any information about the incident yet,” said Nayak.

“I don’t have any knowledge about such an incident. If it is true, proper action will be taken against the accused after proper investigation into the incident,” said Debadutta Biswal, Special PP Vigilance.
