In fresh developing news, police in Rajnagar of Kendrapara district have arrested four more people in connection with the alleged abduction and gang-rape of a schoolgirl. The incident, which unfolded on Raksha Bandhan festival, reportedly began when the victim visited the house of the prime accused, Piyush, and was served a cold drink laced with intoxicants before being forcibly taken away.

The police had detained these 4 accused and with these arrests, the total number of people taken into custody has risen to five. The prime accused, identified as Piyush, was arrested on Monday and produced before court the same day.

Incident on Raksha Bandhan Day

According to police sources, the incident occurred on the day of Raksha Bandhan when the victim had gone to Piyush’s house. It is alleged that she was served a cold drink laced with intoxicants. Following this, she was forcibly taken away and was gang-raped by the five accused.
