The state unit of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Friday launched a scathing attack on the BJD-led government over the issue of social media influencer Kamiya Jani's entry into Puri Srimandir.

Addressing a press conference, state BJP spokesperson Anil Biswal said, “Kamiya Jani is a blogger and consumed beef. Knowing everything, how she was allowed to enter a sacred place like Srimandir? Not only that, she was offered ‘Mahaprasad’, which is considered the most sacred thing. How she was offered ‘Mahaprasad’? Neither the Biju Janata Dal nor the SJTA is speaking anything on these issues.”

"Kamiya is a paid blogger and how much money was paid to her? It should also be revealed how much money is being spent on Pandian's promotion. The Chief Minister should clarify it," said Biswal.

Biswal even demanded that if required the ritual of ‘Mahasnana’ should be performed inside the temple after consultation with the Mukti Mandap.

In response, BJD spokesperson Swayam Prakash Mohapatra said, “We are telling that no camera was allowed into the temple premises. The SJTA also said so in its post on its X handle. If they (BJP) have proof to substantiate their claim they should come with it.”
Notably, Kamiya had on Thursday clarified that she has never eaten beef.
