Justice Chakradhari Sharan Singh has been appointed as the Chief Justice of Orissa High Court.

“In exercise of the power conferred by clause (1) of Article 217 of the Constitution of India, the President is pleased to appoint Shri Justice Chakradhari Sharan Singh, Judge of the Patna High Court, to be the Chief Justice of the Orissa High Court, with effect from the date he assumes charge of his office,” read the notification issued by Deputy Secretary to the Government of India on Friday.

Following the retirement of Chief Justice of Orissa High Court, Justice Subhasis Talapatra on October 3, 2023, the Supreme Court Collegium had recommended the name of Justice Singh to the Central Government for appointment as the next Chief Justice of the Orissa High Court.

Justice Singh was appointed as a judge of the High Court of Judicature at Patna on April 5, 2012. He was enrolled at the Bar in 1990 and practiced at the High Court of Judicature at Patna, dealing with constitutional, service, criminal, and arbitration matters.

He has also served as the Additional Advocate General for Bihar.
